'Tis the season to celebrate with one of jazz's great emerging singers with a fresh re-imagining of the classic "Santa Baby". New York singer/songwriter and performer Rebecca Angel spins a sultry jazz twist on the playful, yet sophisticated, Christmas perennial first recorded by Eartha Kitt in 1953. Producer Jason Miles (Miles Davis, Marcus Miller, Luther Vandross) adds retro and bluesy touches via electric piano and Hammond  B-3, and the track features electric guitarist Jonah Prendergast, acoustic bassist Reggie Washington and drummer Brian Dunne. The tune opens with Angel's sensual scatting paired with Washington’s warm, intimate bassline features and builds to a lush flugelhorn solo by the singer's father, popular jazz recording artist Dennis Angel.
